A Way Forward

Adopt-A-Family 2014 is here! With your generous support last year, the Office for Women and Domestic and Sexual Violence Services was able to assist over 12 families in need during the holiday season, and we are looking forward to yet another successful year.If you are interested in learning more about how you can help these families who are struggling have a brighter holiday season and an inspiring start to 2015, please call Vanessa Cullers at 703-246-4517, or email at Vanessa.cullers@fairfaxcounty.gov.

The families below are waiting for your help, call or email Vanessa, and she will provide you with their Wish List as well as a timeline for the program.   If you are interested in donating, but can’t adopt a family, Gift cards are always welcome and can be mailed to the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC), Historic Courthouse, 4000 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax  VA 22030.  Thank you and Happy Holidays!

A Way Forward works with several Fairfax County Organizations to help stop violence.  The Office for Women and Domestic and Sexual Violence Services (OWDSVS) serves residents of the Fairfax County and the Cities of Falls Church and Fairfax.  Service providers are sensitive to issues of age, gender, race, disability, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity.

Mission Statement: The purpose of A Way Forward is to help survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Fairfax County, VA transition to safe and independent living by providing assistance for emergency services such as temporary housing, transportation, food and other basic life needs.  A Way Forward also provides limited financial assistance to professional staff for training.
